Sunrise Disc Golf at Mt. High North is currently OPEN!

Sunrise is a Mountain Forest Disc Golf Course on the terrain of Mountain High North near Wrightwood California. The courses were designed in 1999 by Dave Dunipace and are owned and operated by Tom Bant. The two and one half mile hike from the tee of one to the basket of twenty seven winds through a magnificent old growth forest in the Big Pines section of the Angeles National Forest. The Sunrise course layout is brilliant and it seems every hole is somebody's favorite. The 27 holes are broken into three nine hole courses that begin and end near the parking lot. In addition to the beauty of the forest the player is presented spectacular vistas of the High Desert from Mojave to Lucerne Valley. Some days you can see Mount Whitney and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. There are deer, raccoon, eagles, squirrels, snakes, bear, hawks, mountain lion and many other birds and wildlife in the area.

The course is on the terrain of Southern California's favorite Mountain High North ski resort and is only open during the skiing off-season. We usually get open in May or June and close the first week in November. During the ski season Sunrise is closed and the baskets are used as a course down the hill at Yucaipa Regional Park.

As is true with all higher elevation courses your discs will become more over-stable up here. Discs will soar longer up here but putts tend to drop quicker. Bring your beat-up discs. All 27 baskets are double chained Innova DisCatchers. Don't expect to do much rolling up here, this ain't no groomed park course. There are rocks and branches and pine cones and such all over. You're up in the mountains, in the wild, a couple of rounds up here and you feel like you're on vacation.

Sunrise is a pay to play course. Just $5.00 buys you all the golf you can play in a day. A season pass can be purchased for just $20. It costs a lot to keep this course going and improving.
